Assistant Professor, Department of English

 

She has completed her B.A and M.A in English literature from Ethiraj College for Women, Chennai (affiliated to the University of Madras). She obtained her TEFL Certification (Teach English as a Foreign Language) from the College of Birmingham, UK. She secured PGCTE (Postgraduate Certification in Teaching of English) from English and Foreign Languages University, Hyderabad (EFLU). She also obtained her Post Graduate Diploma in Teaching of English (PGDTE) from EFLU Hyderabad. Ms. Devi Raj is a lifetime member of ELTAI (English language teachers association of India).

She has completed her Ph.D. research in English Language Teaching (ELT) and has submitted her thesis to Madras University. The study is an assessment of affective factors in English language learning among young learners. She had worked as a resource faculty at the Coaching Centre for Minority Youth (CCMY) and as a guest lecturer at the Government Fine Arts College, Chennai.  She had presented several papers on National/International platforms and obtained best paper awards. She delivered a session on ‘Strategic Directions in Teaching and Learning of English’ at the National Institute of Education (NIE), Srilanka for the National RESC Conference – ‘Reimagining English Teaching, Learning and Assessment in 21st Century. She was also associated with EMMRC of Calicut University in developing E-learning Videos for UGC-funded projects. She has also been invited as keynote speaker at  DIET Palakkad in connection with Proficiency Enhancement Programme for the Upper Primary and Lower Primary School teachers of Palakkad District.

 Ms. Devi Raj. V is currently working as an Assistant Professor of English at the Post-Graduate Department of English, Sree Vivekananda College, Kunnamkulam, Thrissur.
