Assistant Professor has been teaching in the P.G Department of English Since March 2016. She completed her graduation from Vimala College, Thrissur , Post Graduation from Sree Kerala Varma College, Thrissur, M.Phil in English from Sree Sankaracharya University of Sanskrit, Kalady, B.Ed in English from Govt. Institute for Advanced Study in Education  (I.A.S.E.), Thrissur. She is currently pursuing Ph.D at Sree Sankaracharya University of Sanskrit, Kalady. She is also a casual announcer at All India Radio, Thrissur.  She worked as a Guest lecturer at Govt.Arts and Science College, Ollur from October,2014 to March 2016.

  • Has acquired a Plus Two equivalent certificate in ‘Bharathanatyam’ from Govt. of Kerala.

  • Passed the B.A. Degree Exam in Functional English from the University of Calicut with 4th rank securing 80% marks in the year 2009.
  • Was qualified to enter the jumbled word round of competition of the power Horse “International Spelling Bee” contest based on the Cambridge Learners Dictionaries, published by Cambridge University Press, in 2005.
  • “Little Writer Award” and National Level Participation in the ‘National Talent Search Writing Competition conducted by Creative Art Academy, New Delhi.
  • ‘Best Student in 1stA. Functional English’ from Vimala College, during the year 2006 – 2007.
  • Honoured with the ‘Award of Recognition’ by the Dept. of English, Sree Kerala Varma, Thrissur 4th achievements in D-Zone Inter zone arts first.
  • Has translated two Malayalam Short Stories, “Oru Sameepakala Dhurantham” (A Recent Tragedy), “Achan” of Padmarajan and K. Girish Kumar respectively into English.
  • Has translated a Malayalam Poem “Aarithineyettuvangum” by Rosemary into English
  • ‘Merit Scholarship’ in P.C.M. Exam conducted by the progressive Curriculum Management Council, during the years (1993-94, 1994-95 & 95-96).
  • ‘Certificate of Excellence’ winning distinction in the Scholarship Examination conducted by Progressive Curriculum Management Council.
  • Won 2nd place in English Elocution competition at the Calicut University’s D-Zone Arts Fest, 2007.
  • All Kerala Inter Collegiate Elocution competition on the Topic Democracy: Prospects and Challenges organized by US Consulate, Chennai in association with Thomas College, Thrissur.
  • Won the district level and was selected to participate at the state level for Malayala Manorama – Rank and Bolt Awards jointly organized by Air India and Malayala Manorama in the year 2006 – 2007.
  • ‘Prathamik and ‘Madhyma’ Exams of ‘Dakshin Bharath Hindi Prachar Sabha’, Chennai during the year 2000 and 2003 respectively.

  • Recipient of National Award for compeering the programme that was adjudged as the best programme of the month in ‘Doordarshan Monthly Awards’ – by Prasar Bharathi, Broadcasting Corporation of India.
  • Recipient of ‘Yuvakala Prathibha Award’ presented by All Kerala Mappila Sangeetha Academy in 2011.
  • “Best Actress Award” at the D-Zone Arts Festival, 2009 – 2010 organized by Calicut University Union.
  • “Best Actress Award” constituted by C.I. Paul Memorial Trust in the year 2009.
  • Was awarded the ‘Kalathilakam’ title while undergoing the degree course at Vimala College, Thrissur consecutively for 3 years – 2007, 2008, 2009.
  • Was adjudged as the “The Best Artist of the Year” consecutively for 2 years from Sree Kerala Varma College, Thrissur in the years 2009 – 2010 and 2010 – 2011.
  • ‘Best Dance of the year Award’ consecutively for 2 years from Vimala College, Thrissur in the academic years and 2006 – 2007 and 2007 – 2008.
  • Was awarded the “The Star of Vimala Award” (An awarded instituted by the Alumnee Association, Vimala College, Thrissur for the BEST OUT GOING STUDENT.
  • Got first prize at the State Level Competition, held during the year 2001-2002 conducted by ‘Kunjan Smaraka Kala Samithi’, Killikurissimangalam in Bharathanatyam.
  • Won the first prize in ‘Folk-Dance’ competition held in connection with the Christ College Golden Jubilee Celebrations, 2006 at Christ College Campus.
  • Has secured first prizes in Mohiniyattom (2006 – 2007) Kathaprasangam (2008-2009), Folk-Dance (2007-2008), group dance (2008-2009) Kerala Nadanam (2010-2011) at the Univeristy Interzone Arts Festival organized by Calicut University Union.
  • Has won 1st Prize in Mono Act (2007-2008), Mohiniyattom (2006-2007), Kathaprasangam (2006-2007), (2007-2008), Kathakali (2010 – 2011), Kuchipudi (2006 – 2007) at the Calicut University D-Zone Arts Fest, during these respective years.
  • Won First Prize in Semi Classical Dance at the 9th All Kerala Cultural Competitions of Legions – Guruvayur [Prathibha Sangamam] in 2001 held at Guruvayur.
  • Won First Prize in Bharathanatyam and Folk Dance at the district level competitions ‘Thourathikam’ held by Yoga Kshema Sabha in the year 2001.
  • Won 2nd place in ‘Kathakali Choliyatta Matsarom’ held in memory of late Kalanilayam Mohankumar by Unnayi Warrier Smaraka Kalanilayam 2002 at the state level.
  • Has won several other prizes at School and College level for Bharathanatyam, Mohiniyattom Kuchipudi, Folk Dance, Monoact, Kathaprasangam, Anthakshari, fancy dress etc.
  • Selected artiste of All India Radio & Doordarshan Kendra
  • Began acting career as a child artiste and has acted in more than 35 films in Malayalam, Tamil and Telugu.

  • Sites of Resistance : Theory and Praxis – UGC sponsored National Seminar organized by Sree Sankaracharya Unviersity of Sanskrit, Kalady and Perspectiva – English Research Forum.
  • ‘Living Wisdom’ Performing Arts Summer Camp, 2002 – California USA. It was a 30 day long camp in which kids from different parts of the world participated.
  • ‘Vykhari – Sahitya Silpasala’ – Jointly organized by Dept. of Malayalam Alumnae (Dept. of Malayalam) of Sree Kerala Varma College, Thrissur on the topic “Classics and Navabhavakathwom) from Nov. 13-15, 2009.
  • National Bal Shree Camp, Organized by National Bal Bhavan from 4th to 6th 2003.
  • 2 day “Film Workshop for Teens” from Nov. 30 to Dec. 11 2002 conducted by Chetana Cine Forum (Chetana Media Institution, Thrissur).
  • ‘Young Leaders Meet’ – a workshop on ‘Leadership Development and Communication skills” on 30th July, 2005 organized by Chinmaya Yuva Kendra.
  • District Level Seminar on “Kerala – Reformation and Modernism” organized by ‘Historia’, Discussion forum. Dept. of History, Sree Kerala Varma College, Thrissur on 12th October, 2004.
  • 4 day long workshop on “Taala’ conducted by Kerala Sangeetha Nataka Akademy and Kalabharathi from May 23-26, 2011.
